          Recognize different types of family units

          Identify your role within your family

          Explain how family members care for each other

          Develop effective communication skills for family meeting

Lesson 3  Your Friends and Peers

          I can:

          Identify the qualities of a good friend

          Recognize character traits found in friends

          Understand the two kinds of peer pressure

Lesson 4            Refusal skills

          I can:

                   Identify how to use refusal skills to resist peer pressure

                   Demonstrate refusal skills to resist negative peer pressure

                   Explain the importance of abstinence during teen years

Lesson 5            Resolving Conflicts

          I can:

                   Explain why conflicts occur

                   Describe ways of protecting yourself from violence

                   Identify a strategy to resolve conflicts through negotiation.

Lesson 3     Digestion and Excretion

1.  Identify the parts and functions of the digestion and excretory.

2.  Apply the skill of advocacy to promote ways to care for the digestive and excretory systems.

Lesson 4      Heart, Blood, Lungs, and Nerves

1.  Explain how blood moves through the body.

2.  Understand how your nervous system controls body functions.

3.  Analyze factors in the environment that influence respiratory health.
